Spring break is that time of year when we slow down, take a break, and finally enjoy some quality time with our families. And what could be better than raclette? A comforting and infinitely customizable dish that requires little preparation and promises an unforgettable moment shared around the table.

This year, we're reinventing the concept! For uncomplicated meals to start or end the day, we offer four themed raclettes, each designed to create a unique culinary experience.

1. Classic raclette—back to basics

Classic raclette remains a favorite among Quebecers: melted cheese, steaming potatoes, comforting meats. At Olymel, we're revisiting this convivial ritual by adding a touch of freshness with marinated meats designed to enhance the experience without complicating the preparation.

Why we love it

It's the ultimate raclette for bringing people together. It's perfect for quiet evenings and spontaneous dinners alike, and goes perfectly with slow living moments after a day of skiing. Tasty, tender, and full of character, Olymel's fresh marinated meats are a hit with everyone around the table.

What we serve

  • Small potatoes

  • Baguette bread

  • Local cheeses

  • Vegetables of your choice (mushrooms, broccoli, onions, zucchini, etc.)

2. Mexican raclette — the festive experience

With the rise in popularity of Mexican flavors — smash tacos, spicy bowls — fiesta-style raclette is a sure hit with young people (and adults!).

Why do we love it?

No matter how old we are, it encourages personalization and makes dinner more lively. Everyone creates their own mini tacos or fajitas, and the atmosphere instantly becomes more dynamic.

You will need:

  •  Small tortillas

  • Monterey Jack or Mozzarella cheese

  • Colorful vegetables: Bell peppers, corn, black beans, lettuce

  • Taco seasoning

  • Salsa

  • Sour cream

  • Lime

  • Cilantro

Smash taco option: Mix the taco seasoning with the Olymel ground turkey, then spread it directly onto mini tortillas. Place them meat-side down on the grill and cook until the turkey is golden brown. Then top with cheese, crisp lettuce, and vegetables of your choice for an ultra-delicious result.

Fajita option: Heat the small tortillas and Mexican-style chicken thigh strips on the top of the grill. In an individual tray, melt the cheese with your choice of vegetables, then place the protein and vegetables in the tortilla. Finish with salsa, a spoonful of sour cream, a squeeze of lime, and a little fresh cilantro.

Quesadilla option: Heat the tortillas on the grill, along with the pulled pork topped with barbecue sauce. Then fill the tortillas with meat, cheese, and vegetables, and return them to the grill until the cheese is perfectly melted. Serve with a touch of sour cream for even more indulgence.

3 irresistible and easy-to-make options. Enjoy!

3. Breakfast raclette — perfect for a lazy morning

Generous breakfasts are at the heart of the comfort food trends. Breakfast raclette transforms a simple morning into a festive brunch.

Why we love it

It's an original option that breaks the routine and is perfect for sharing with family or friends. The possibilities are endless, making it easy to put together a complete, tasty plate worthy of a restaurant brunch.

On the table

  • Pancake mix

  • Croissants

  • Store-bought hash browns

  • Cheeses

  • Vegetables of your choice (diced colored peppers, mushrooms, broccoli florets, tomatoes, diced onions, etc.)

  • Fresh fruit of your choice

  • Beaten eggs

Inspiration

Classic breakfast plate: Cook the meat, potatoes, and pancake mix directly on the grill plate. Meanwhile, in a small individual tray under the appliance, pour the beaten eggs with the cheese and vegetables of your choice to create a mini omelet. Serve with fresh fruit.

Mini stuffed omelet: Brown the ham cubes on the grill plate, then transfer them to an individual tray. Add the beaten eggs, cheese, and vegetables of your choice, then cook gently. This option is perfect for making several omelets and varying the flavor combinations.

BLT-style breakfast croissant: Cook the bacon on the raclette grill, then slide it into a croissant. Add a touch of mayonnaise, slices of fresh tomato, cheese, and crisp lettuce. Serve with fresh fruit and hash browns cooked on the grill for a complete breakfast.
